Co-simulation Modeling of High Performance Motor-drive Systems for Aerospace applications

Résumé

This paper deals with the modeling of high performance motor-drive systems for aerospace applications. Losses in the electronic power converter based on Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology are evaluated. This power converter drives a high performance brushless AC (BLAC) fault tolerant multiphase machine for aerospace applications. The co-simulation model is developed using Matlab-Simulink and AnsysSimplorer. This model considers the electromagnetic nonlinearities of the machine (120 kW BLAC machine with 24 slots and 11 pole pairs) by implementing the characteristic data extracted from a finite element (FE) analysis. The simulation results show that the proposed co-simulation model is accurate and realistic for motor-drive systems.
